RACHEL KROEPLIEN, board member

Rachel Kroeplien is the Dean of Applied Technology and Economic Development at Lakeshore Technical College. Growing up on her family’s dairy farm in Sheboygan Falls, she always had a passion for educating others about agriculture. She started her career as a high school agricultural educator and FFA advisor before moving closer to home and becoming an Agriculture Instructor at Lakeshore Technical College in 2015. Although Rachel loved being in the classroom, in January 2020, she became the Senior Flexible Instructional Designer at Lakeshore. Her role was to assist faculty and staff in transitioning programs to competency-based education (CBE), an educational approach that focuses on mastery of skills rather than the time in class, which provides more flexibility for students. In May of 2023, Rachel became the Dean of Applied Technology and Economic Development in hopes of helping more students fulfill their dreams and find a career they are passionate about. As a lifelong learner, Rachel earned her Bachelor's and Master's in Agricultural Education from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. She is working towards her doctorate in Educational Leadership – Student Personnel Services from the University of the Cumberlands.
